Fresh & Healthy mid week masterpiece

Ok I made a super yummy and super FRESH dinner on Wednesday that I thought I would share with you. It is really healthy as it is all natural ingredients. It doesn't LOOK amazing (I once again blame my photography skills, or lack there of). But my husband took a few bites and said "WOW this is really tasty"- result!

First I roasted 4 Red Peppers at a low temperature for a few hours in coconut oil.
The oil and peppers were added to a blender with the following fresh ingredients:
Half a chilli (seeds out) at first and then you can add more depending on your taste preference
A nice handful of fresh coriander

I started off with 3 hunks of garlic then added another 2 because I love garlic

3 limes squeezed

A palm and a half full of pine nuts

This is the finished product once it has all been whizzed up.  Remember to taste it as you might want to add more ingredients if you like it hot.

I used these noodles today because I was WFH and didn't have time to make sweet potato noodles

Once noodles have been boiled & drained I mixed them with the sauce and re-heat to create a FRESH and HEALTHY mid week dinner

If non of the above are your choice maybe House of Fraser can win you over...

Or maybe the ever so fabulous net-a-porter could sort you out, some serious i phone crushing going on here...

BUT the creme de la creme for me personally is this STUNNING i phone case...

I swoon whenever I see this created by the UBER talented Amy Sia.  In fact all of her artwork is stunning!  Check it out

ART ATTACK

Ok I am by NO means an 'art collector' nor do I pretend to know the ins and outs of the art world. I simply just fall in love with a piece of art and buy it (or desperately save up to buy it). There isn't really any rhyme or reason to my 'art collection', I just fill my house with art that makes me SMILE and makes us HAPPY. Here are some of my favourite pieces in the house (apologies for the not so great pictures, I am a 'budding' photographer):

I have no idea where this one is from because it has been in my family since I was a little girl.  When my mum sold our family home in Canada she surprised me by sending this over.  I have a little piece of my 'Canadian Home' here in England- super sentimental
My husband surprised me with this gorgeous picture for Christmas 3 years ago.  I love everything about this piece, it is magical and whimsical.  The Old Oak Tree's Last Dream from MisseMai.  This picture doesn't do it justice
This crazy piece was needed because in our living room we had a HUGE white wall and needed a splash of colour (just realised its a little wonky).  This piece is from a fantastic company called Boconcept, they have some seriously cool stuff.
This was an amazing present from my Hubby, a box of butterflies.  This one is from the amazing Cissy Cook. There are so many of these around now but this was one of the original ones and it makes me smile every morning!

Now we also need some more art in the bedroom and in my 'office area'  These are on my wish list....

The ever so fabulous Alex from Things That Sparkle blog shared this gorgeous piece of artwork by Amanda Stone Tally that she has up in her dining room. I am seriously coveting this amazing piece of work!

And of course ANY piece of artwork from Cocoa & Hearts!  The only problem is that they sell out within seconds of posting new paintings!

little changes....

As I have mentioned before I have been working really hard to improve my health and fitness in preparation for IVF. BUT that would be a total waste of time if I was trying to 'detox' myself and left my house full of toxins. Today I am going to share with you some of the fabulous products I have introduced into my household and I love them. Some might be a little wacky but HEY it works for us.

Lots of plants have been added to our household as these wonderful things help rid the home of pollutants and toxins. There is a really short and informative article that outlines the top 10 houseplants to help clean the air found here.
Our cleaning products have been totally revamped!  Our house still sparkles and shines but without the heavy chemicals and fake 'smells'.
Ok this is one of the products that I have only just found and think it is great.  I got mine from Lakeland.  Basically it is an air purifying bag that contains bamboo charcoal and removes odours in the house.  Totally love it.  I don't THINK our house smelt though, so I only bought it for its purifying properties ha haha
Ok another one that is out there and a little whacky.....  When I went for a massage recently the therapist had a beautiful Himalayan Salt Lamp in her treatment room.  It gives off the most beautiful relaxing pink glow and it was so soothing.  I decided to do some research into it and many different websites stated that they were very good for purifying the air and their 'ionising' properties.  This might be true Im not totally convinced BUT I love the glow and its great to have on in the bedroom when you just need to unwind
My skin!  If I am being so careful about what I put into my body and am making sure everything is as organic as possible then I need to be JUST as dilagent about what I put onto my body.  I bascially went though all of our old skin products and identified the ones that were full of parabens and other nasties.  These have slowly been replaced with a much more natural approach and my skin LOVES it.

Ok Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish is THE BEST product in the world for cleaning your face! If you haven't tried it you are missing out.  Lots of people I know who started using it adore it so GET ON IT!  The reviews on the website speak for itself.  The smell is amazing and it is just SO natural.  It comes with a polish cloth that really removes the day away.

At night time I then massage in all natural rosehip oil and wake up with beautiful radiant skin.  Hey if it is good enough for Miranda Kerr then...

In the morning I use Khiels but BE careful as I was shocked that many of their products contain nasties!  But this one I was told doesn't.

Finally I delight my armpits with GreenPeople rosemary deodorant. Im kinda a sweaty person and this does the trick. Their products are divine!

Love/Hate Relationship

Happy Monday! Ok I know there is a quote out there that says something like: If you are bored of London then you are bored of life. I totally get that on ONE hand, there are some AMAZING things....

Loving the LAMPS!

The food is also great in London
London has also FINALLY caught onto the whole FRO YO thing which I am SO happy about and my personal favourite is the Green Tea Fro Yo with raspberries from SNOG

Check out the funky lights inside!
Check'em out if you fancy a SNOG

Cheers to a lovely afternoon in London
There goes the 'healthy eating' for an afternoon

BUT there is also something about London that makes me VERY happy to return home to my lovely little English Village. It might be the fact that I am now getting old, but I think it is more to do with the fact that sometimes in London, especially rush hour on the Tube, it almost feels like EVERY human has transformed into a robot.  They don't show any compassion or make any connection with other humans,  they are just on a mission to get somewhere and don't care who they bash out of their way to get there.
SO I love London for SO many reasons BUT I also LOVE getting home to my friendly little village and getting back to a slower pace of life.  I really do have a love/hate relationship with it.

Tiny Devotions-my secret weapon

I had a lovely weekend BUT am starting to feel nervous. Tomorrow is hopefully going to be the START of my IVF journey. The idea is that I will not be doing the 'long cycle' which means I will not have as many drugs PUMPED into me BUT I will have hormones pumped into me. Unfortunately I will be needing to administer these via injections (YIKES) every day.
After my Consultant does a scan, I will come off the birth control and will then hopefully start my stimulating injections as soon as my 'Aunt FLOW' arrives.
I have been to acupuncture & reflexology this weekend to help get me in the 'right frame of mind' BUT one of my secret weapons has come from a dear friend in Canada.

A few weeks ago I had a special package waiting for me and opened it up to find something very intriguing from a company called Tiny Devotions & a beautiful handwritten note from my friend.  Seriously tears were flowing!

If you have not heard of the FANTASTIC tiny devotions before you need to go have a look.  I had never heard of them before so did lots of investigating and watched the Q & A about Mala beads video with the founder of Tiny Devotions below (serious Girl Crush).

So Saturday was the day that I decided I would begin my MALA beads journey.  I am hoping they bring a wonderful gift into our lives.  My friend also had them specifically 'blessed' for fertility by the team at Tiny Devotions.
Here I am with the beautiful beads.  You would not believe the number of people who asked me about WHERE they came from.  You might be sceptical BUT if you can't think positively through something like this what can you do?
Keep on sparkling
